SecondMarket

Role:   Senior Interaction Designer
Overview

Our team was asked to review and update external facing website pages aligning to the updated company messaging, as well as increased efficiencies for finding information.

Since the marketing team owned the content on most of these pages, our teams needed to have close collaboration in order to achieve the project goals. We first needed to explain our process, terminology to ensure everyone would understand how we would collaborate, and what each person's role on the team.

During our research, we discovered users wanted to know how they could trust SecondMarket. After sharing the research, the team decided the solution needed to address users concern how to trust SecondMarket.

Initial Sketch Flow Ideas
Initial Mocks

After the high level requirements were agreed, we discussed various options on how the pages could be layed out. I used a low fidelity prototyping tool in order to facilitate greater feedback and collaboration between the team. With the design in a sketch format, it appeared to be not completed, which made people more engaged, and provided productive feedback to each concept.

Final Design

Our released design includes elements to address what the site is about, specific market areas, and elements to address trust concern.

Change Highlights
  • Alignment to marketing messaging, Discover, Connect, and Transact.
  • Product Specific Paths - providing each market with unique access point, as well as market specific color and iconography.
  • Spotlight Story Section - highlighting featured storys.
  • Recognition Section - highlighting awards to help building trust.

The interface shouldn't interfere with the customer   •   If you can't briefly explain the solution, it's too complex   •   The design should include an element of fun!
